2.1 Audio codecs
EV155 supports the following Bluetooth audio codecs:
| Codec | Notes |
|---|---|
| LDAC1 | Sony high-resolution codec, highest priority by default |
| LHDC V52 | High-resolution codec |
| aptX Adaptive | Adjusts bit rate to the radio conditions |
| aptX HD | Higher-resolution variant of aptX |
| aptX LL | Low-latency variant of aptX |
| aptX3 | Qualcomm codec |
| AAC | Widely used general-purpose codec |
| SBC | Mandatory baseline Bluetooth codec |
| LC3 | LE Audio codec, used for Auracast broadcasts |
Default priority and manual selection
EV155 gives LDAC the highest priority by default. You can choose a preferred codec under Bluetooth → Codecs.
The default priority does not force a codec on every connection. The codec actually used is negotiated from what both devices support and the current link conditions, and the display shows the codec in use.
Tip
If LDAC is selected but the other device does not support it, the connection automatically falls back to a codec both devices support.
